Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 September 2026

Read this first. UNYIELD is a ranked, competitive training app. Lifting is inherently risky and you train entirely at your own risk — see section 12. Submitting fake, edited or borrowed footage will get your account banned and your ranking wiped. Virtual items you buy have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.

1. These terms

These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the UNYIELD mobile application, the unyieldapp.com website and all related services (together, the “Service”). The Service is provided by Unyield Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17102601 (“UNYIELD”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an account, or by downloading or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use UNYIELD. By using the Service you confirm that you are 16 or over, that you are legally able to enter into a binding contract, and that you are not barred from using the Service under the laws of your country.

3. Your account

  • You may register with an email address and password, or through Sign in with Apple. Some features are available with a guest account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens on your account. Tell us immediately at support@unyieldapp.com if you think your account has been compromised.
  • One person, one account. Do not create multiple accounts to inflate rankings, farm invites, evade a ban, or claim challenge rewards more than once.
  • Do not sell, rent, share or transfer your account.
  • Information you give us — including body weight, height, age and gender — must be accurate and kept up to date. Deliberately misstating body metrics to gain a weight-class or strength-ratio advantage is cheating and is treated as such.
  • Where invite codes are in use, they are personal, single-use and non-transferable, and must not be sold or traded.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit any lift, workout or challenge entry you did not actually perform.
  • Upload footage that is edited, sped up, slowed down, reused from an earlier submission, taken from someone else, or otherwise misrepresents what happened.
  • Use software, scripts, automation, modified clients or exploits to interact with the Service, or to manipulate points, ranks, streaks or leaderboards.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, defame or abuse other users, or post hateful, sexual, violent or otherwise unlawful content.
  • Upload content that infringes anyone else’s rights, or that features other people who have not agreed to appear.
  • Upload content in which a child is identifiable.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems, or probe, scan or overload our infrastructure.
  • Scrape, harvest or bulk-extract data from the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
  • Impersonate any person, gym or organisation.

Report anything that breaks these rules using the in-app report function, or email support@unyieldapp.com.

5. Your content and the licence you give us

You keep ownership of the videos, images, text and other content you submit (“Your Content”). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt (including automated face blurring), display and distribute Your Content for the purpose of operating, moderating and promoting the Service, including showing it on leaderboards, profiles and challenge feeds. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for the moderation and legal reasons set out in our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you own or have the rights to Your Content, and that it does not break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights.

6. Video verification and moderation

  • Submissions may be reviewed by our moderators. We may approve, reject or remove any submission, and we may adjust or remove points, ranks, streaks, badges and records awarded on the basis of a submission we later find to be invalid.
  • Verification decisions are made on the evidence in the footage. If a lift is not clearly visible, it may be rejected.
  • If your submission is rejected you may appeal once through the in-app appeals process. Our decision on an appeal is final.
  • Rankings, points and records are provided as-is. We do not guarantee that any ranking is free of error, and we may recalculate or reset rankings, seasons and leaderboards where necessary to correct a fault or to remove the effects of cheating.

7. Challenges, seasons and prizes

  • Challenges and seasons have their own rules, entry requirements, start and end dates, and winner criteria, which are shown in the app and form part of these Terms for anyone who enters.
  • Some challenges require a video submission. Entries that do not meet the stated minimum duration or evidence requirements will not count.
  • Where a season or challenge advertises a prize pool, it is stated in pounds sterling (GBP) and is funded entirely by UNYIELD. Outcomes are determined by athletic performance against published criteria — these are skill-based competitions, not gambling, lotteries or games of chance.
  • Prizes are awarded only to eligible accounts in good standing. We may require proof of identity and age before paying a prize, and we may withhold a prize where we reasonably believe an entry involved cheating or a breach of these Terms.
  • Prizes are not transferable. Any tax on a prize is the winner’s responsibility.
  • Entries are void where prohibited by local law. It is your responsibility to check that you may lawfully enter.
  • We may cancel, suspend or amend a challenge or season where it is affected by a technical fault, widespread cheating or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where a paid entry is affected, we will refund or credit the entry as set out in section 8.

8. In-app purchases and virtual items

  • UNYIELD offers optional in-app purchases such as challenge entries, extra attempts, profile frames, rank highlights and time-limited XP boosts. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
  • All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account, under Apple’s terms. We do not handle your payment details.
  • Virtual items are a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use a feature within the Service. They are not your property, have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be sold or transferred to anyone else.
  • Consumable items are used up when you use them. Time-limited items, such as XP boosts, expire at the end of their stated period whether or not you used them.
  • Statutory cancellation right. As a UK or EU consumer you would normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. Because virtual items are delivered to you immediately, you agree that supply begins straight away and you acknowledge that you therefore lose that 14-day right of cancellation once delivery has begun. This does not affect your legal rights if an item is faulty, not as described, or not delivered.
  • Refunds. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. If an item was not delivered or did not work as described, contact support@unyieldapp.com and we will investigate and help.
  • We may change prices, or add, alter or withdraw items, at any time. Items you have already bought are not affected by a later price change.
  • If your account is terminated for a breach of these Terms, unused virtual items are forfeited without refund.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We aim to keep UNYIELD available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may suspend, withdraw, or change any part of the Service, including features, scoring, ranking formulas, badges and challenge formats, for operational, legal or product reasons. Where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

10. Suspension and termination

  • You can stop using UNYIELD at any time and delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing support@unyieldapp.com.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account, remove content, reset your ranking, or restrict access, where we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, cheated, put other users at risk, or acted unlawfully.
  • Where it is fair and practical to do so, we will tell you why and give you the chance to respond. For serious breaches — fabricated submissions, harassment, or attacks on our systems — we may act immediately.

11. Our intellectual property

The UNYIELD name, logo, app, website, design, code, ranking systems and all related materials belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in line with the App Store Terms of Service. Nothing else is granted.

12. Health, fitness and safety — important

UNYIELD is not a medical service and we are not your coach, doctor or physiotherapist. Nothing in the app is medical advice.

  • Strength training carries a real risk of serious injury. You train entirely at your own risk.
  • Consult a qualified doctor before starting or significantly changing a training programme, particularly if you have any medical condition, injury, or are pregnant.
  • Never attempt a lift beyond your ability, and never attempt a maximal lift without proper warm-up, technique, equipment and, where appropriate, a spotter.
  • The competitive nature of the Service — ranks, streaks, challenges and leaderboards — must not push you past what is safe. Stop if something hurts. A ranking is not worth an injury.
  • Points, ranks, strength ratios and weight classes are engagement and comparison features. They are not a clinical assessment of your health or fitness.

13. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these Terms.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any injury, illness or loss arising from your training, from any exercise you perform, or from anything you do in reliance on the Service.
  • We are not liable for content posted by other users, or for their conduct.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, data or goodwill.
  • We are not liable for loss of points, ranks, streaks, badges or virtual items caused by a technical fault, by a correction to remove the effects of cheating, or by any change to the Service.
  • Our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and (b) £100.

We are not liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

14. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties including Apple, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Expo and our hosting provider. Their terms apply to their parts of the service, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date above, and for material changes we will give you notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.

16. General

  • If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over our business, provided your rights are not reduced.
  • Except as stated in section 17, no one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.

17. Governing law and Apple

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts.

Additional terms that apply to the iOS app

  • These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. UNYIELD, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence to use the app is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app. All support requests go to support@unyieldapp.com.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation of any kind in respect of the app.
  • UNYIELD, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
  • UNYIELD, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any third-party claim that the app infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and on your acceptance of these Terms Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you.
